Obviously a comment from someone that has not actually been in the third world! Yes our system needs some serious fixing but third world? I think not.But I guess I take the greatest exception to item 4.
in particular:
"social engineering" & the astounding accusation/conclusion that the Greens would "unreasonably or impractically "interferes with the way we live our daily lives and are clueless about the control people want to have over their own lives".If this is what 'some' peoples perception is [ and I know Tom you have a thing about social engineering] then maybe 'someone' has not been adequately explaining what the Greens are all about [ & apart from the Media that maybe us].
It must be obvious by now that our way of life is in 'serious trouble'. No other party seems to have fully recognised this & therefore are only paying lip service to possible/probable remedies. If you think many people have 'control' over their lives in this western society, controlled as it is by large corporations, WTO etc, and not actually by our governement then I think your 'clueless' comment is a long way off the mark. If any party was not clueless about the control people have , then it is surely the Greens.Freedom is a great concept. The Land of the Free & the Brave, a place where for making money wars are started, where per person the most waste takes place, where the ex slaves are still on the bottiom of the heap, where they think God protects only them etc, one has to make the comment: If people are 'free' to do what they want, how come we are more screwed up than before we had 'so-called' freedom. But I guess if the 'people' making the comments above had actually taken the time to find out the facts, & I am talking about item 4., then the question would not have been so 'loaded' and caused me such a reaction. www.greens.org.nz would be a good place to start I suggest!
Cheers
