New start at Regional Council?

Rex McIntyre has stepped down as Chair of the Regional Council, also resigning his Council seat. A new Chair will be elected Tuesday, February 3rd, by the remaining eight Councillors, and a by-election will be held in April to fill his Wairoa seat.

Environment Court will hear sports park appeal

In a terrific victory for due process, the Environment Court has decided to hear the appeal opposing the Regional Sports Park! Exchanges of evidence and rebuttals will now occur over the next few months, into May.
