Since the development of the Hastings District Councils’ District Plan there have been many changes in the Horticultural industry that have given the perception that it is a dying industry
It is not.
The relevance of the Plan is the same today as it was when promulgated .
Recognition of the importance of the districts soils and climate should be a constant.
The Proposed Regional Sports Park is a challenge to the plan content and councillors need to decide if they are going to preside over the demise of our greatest asset.
The community’s wellbeing is linked to the land. Don’t weaken it.
