Voter Guide Profile: When I wrote this statement for the 2022 election I said “I will advocate for our environment and our economy. We can do better in both, especially if we manage our water well.

I’m pleased to say that HBRC is well advanced with its water security initiatives including a detailed investigation into a medium-scale water reservoir that will capture “winter water” and release it in summer. This will boost summer river levels in the Ngaruroro and it will benefit our economy through irrigation and town water supply. We are investigating a range of water efficiency measures to.
